Pyrotechnic Compositions
Pyrotechnic Compositions are mixtures of chemicals that are designed to produce effects of gas, heat, light, sound and/or smoke. These effects are useful in Pyrotechnics; for example, black powder is used to produce a lot of heat and gas in a small amount of time inside a firecracker, which eventually explodes due to the pressure of the hot gasses produced. Flash powder is used to create loud explosions and/or flashes. Propellants are used to propel a rocket due to its ability to produce a lot of gas and smoke that serve as kinetic energy for a rocket... the list can go on and on. Pyrotechnic Compositions do not rely on external oxygen, as they can oxidize themselves.
